To empower and enable hearing impaired children through access to special education to be productive citizen..
Until now more than One Hundred students have been admitted in normal schools after having their early education from our institution. .
"It is a momentous occasion for us to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of our dear Parent's Own Clinic for Deaf Children, or simply Parent's Own Clinic as we call it. On this day, the first person who comes to each one of our mind is revered Late Smt. Anubhuti Bose, or our dear Anudi the Founder of this Institution and it's first Secretary. I am sure, wherever she is, she is feeling proud that we have been able to successfully carry the lamp she lit 25 years back in search of solution for the hearing challenged children who came to her with lot of hope and aspiration. We also recall with fondness the great service rendered to Clinic by Late Sm, Pratima Ganguly, the first Principal of the Clinic.
We recollect the great benevolence of Late Sri Ajit Panja, without whose active support to financially help the Clinic, we may not have traveled this far. Besides the financial help, he has been guided us with his great wisdom. We are happy that his legacy continues with the support we continue to receive from Smt. Sashi Panja in our endeavor.
This Institution has since it's inception, sewed a large number children, who have joined the mainstream of the society, after being trained to join normal school. Many of these children have undergone higher studies, even Post Graduate courses, and are now gainfully employed. This done would vouch for the great success of our mission.
We have been fortunate in having a band of dedicated persons to work for the Institution. I must name here Mr. Shyamal Kumar Sen, ex-Governor of West Bengal during whose great leadership, as President of the Clinic, the Clinic has acquired it's present recognition and stature. Parent's come to our Clinic holding hands of small children in need of special education with lot of apprehension as well as hope. At the end of child's tenure in our School, they leave the School premises with smile on their face and great hope and confidence for their Children's future. This is made possible by a team of most dedicated teachers that cannot be found anywhere. Our Clinic in particular, and the Society at large, is grateful to them.
The greatest satisfaction one gets in this Clinic is in the participation of the present and past parent's in the activity and development of the Clinic. The growth and success of the Clinic will always depend upon such participation. It needs the support of all those who have been supporting us in this great journey." -- Speech of Mr. Arun Kumar Chatterjee, President of Parent's Own Clinic for Deaf Children on the occassion of Silver Jubily celebration of the school held at 'University Institute Hall', Kolkata, on 19th Feb 2012.
